I did this once for amazon. Gave them free editorial content. FUCK THAT. I dispute their claim of ownership

The Best of John, Paul, George and Ringo (not in that order)
Library Industries (Los Angeles, CA United States)
Qualifications: Somehow not totally sick of The Beatles

John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band by Lennon, John

stunning, intense, stark, brilliant.  bonus tracks rock but are totally inappropriate.  power to the people is belated political wish lacking this lp's realistic worldview and oz is a psych rave up

Imagine by Lennon, John

The best Beatle's 2nd best solo lp.  thankfully, no out of place bonus cuts.

Ringo by Starr, Ringo

here's that beatles reunion album you thought you wanted.  it's a concept album too.  the concept? Ringo.

All Things Must Pass [DIGI-PAK EDITION] by Harrison, George

chock full of rejected beatles tracks, including the title track which is a better song than let it be.  again, questionable bonus tracks. and jam session tracks (originally 3rd LP) couldn't be lamer.

Ram by McCartney, Paul

i'm certain a paul record belongs in this slot.  i'm not quite certain which one but i think this is it.  has simple charms like first album, but with more complexity and diversity. still a bit syrupy

Unfinished Music #2: Life With The Lions by Lennon, John & Ono, Yoko

that's right, i'd rather hear this than band on the run.  look, this thing shreds me each time i spin it.

McCartney by McCartney, Paul

maybe i'm amazed is beatlesque, sure. maybe better than half his side one abbey road cuts.  teddy boy though makes ya glad the fabs dissolved. where's maxwell when ya need him?

Some Time in New York City/Live Jam by Ono, Yoko

there's a knee-jerk tendency to put this record down, but guess what: it rocks.  also available in reconfigured single disc.

Venus and Mars by McCartney, Paul

most group oriented wings album and not any more frivolous than its usually trumpeted predecessor. bonus tracks fit well.

Wings - Greatest Hits by McCartney, Paul

essential for great singles. program out album cuts & see what i mean. includes full junior's farm, unlike wingspan.

Mind Games by Lennon, John
$11.99   Used & New from: $8.55

why am i writing free editorial content for amazon?  i dunno. anyway Tight A$ and Meat City are classics.

Double Fantasy by Ono, Yoko

john's songs are surprisingly mellow... maybe not so surprising. yoko's songs really kick. tacked-on bonuses includes their finest collaboration Walking On Thin Ice.  Wow.  of its time and ahead of it

Wonderwall Music by Harrison, George

george on the first beatles solo album.  too bad there's only a pricey import.  groovy eclectic soundtrack music.

Pussy Cats by Nilsson, Harry

john produced this amazing under-loved nilsson lp.  bonus tracks are essential.  would put it higher but it aint a beatle solo lp.  superior companion to walls and bridges. jolly good cover art.

The John Lennon Collection by Lennon, John

the cheapest way to get the essential non-lp early singles plus Move Over Ms. L. Program those in sequence of release and see that his early solo 45s are as good as his late period Beatles work.

McCartney II by McCartney, Paul

like his first mccartney album, but later.  his last record with evidence of the old paul magic, i think.  temp secretary & coming up are neat.  Goodnight Tonight bonus is Wings and doesn't fit here.

Living in the Material World by Harrison, George

i have an old bootleg of a solo acoustic 'sue me , sue you' that should be a bonus track.  anyway i'm listening to this album right now. In some small way better than All Things Must Pass.

Band on the Run by McCartney, Paul

formerly overrated & cloying in spots, but way better than Oasis any day. with above "Greatest" you get title track & Jet. Still worth it for Helen Wheels, 1985 & INCREDIBLE Lennon nod Let Me Roll It

Goodnight Vienna by Starr, Ringo

like "Ringo" lp but not as good.  title track is great lennon song and cd has bonus of back off boogaloo

Sentimental Journey by Starr, Ringo

i finally go this reportedly awful solo debut and i think it's quite a charmer.  only played it once, mind you; just got it.

Cloud Nine by Harrison, George

i cant stand Got My Mind Set On You or the jeff lynne production, but i gotta be fair: this is probably george's best selection of songs since All Things Must Pass. i don't know the bonus cuts.

George Harrison by Harrison, George

zero rock and roll content; a 'nice' record.  i haven't heard bonus demo, but i bet it's a highlight.

Milk and Honey by Lennon, John

some real good stuff on here from double fantasy sessions. nobody told me is a favorite. haven't heard bonus interviews. they could make you feel heavy, considering John died that day.  What a loss.

Rock 'n' Roll by Lennon, John

nostalgia from a trailblazer can be off-putting and this is overproduced in spots as well but it really is a good time. you know, fun rock 'n roll and the singing is fantastic. very welcome bonus cuts

Anthology by Lennon, John

I didn't feel it was proper to put a box set in such a list so I kept it for last. In some ways, saving the best for last. I mean, this is all rare or unreleased stuff but it's John Lennon & he shines
